A day after there was outrage over Hafiz Saeed’s Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation being put on the ‘watch list’ of the National Counter Terrorism Authority, Pakistan’s Interior Ministry on Tuesday, 5 March, put the two groups under the list of proscribed organisations.
Meanwhile, a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday that the country’s high commissioner to India will return to New Delhi more than two weeks after he was recalled for consultations by Islamabad.
Moreover, Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar’s brother Mufti Abdul Rauf was among the 44 members of banned outfits who were detained in Pakistan on the same day.
Releasing a statement on what happened on 27 February, when India and Pakistan engaged in an aerial dogfight, the IAF said in a statement that the claim by Pakistan of shooting down a Sukhoi Su-30 aircraft is false and “appears to be a cover up for loss of its own aircraft”.
